TL;DR Language + framework mentions dominate the top of the ranking. 'React', 'TypeScript', 'Python', 'SQL', 'AWS', 'Docker', 'Kubernetes', 'CI/CD', 'code review', and 'production' appear in 60%+ of SWE JDs regardless of seniority.
Frontend stack React (78%), TypeScript (61%), Next.js (34%), Tailwind (22%), Vite (18%). If you touched a stack, name it in a bullet — parsers weight bullet-context mentions higher than skills-list mentions.
Backend & infra Python (55%), Node.js (48%), Go (24%), Postgres (52%), Redis (31%), AWS (58%), Docker (49%), Kubernetes (37%), CI/CD (46%). Behavioral terms like 'code review', 'on-call', 'production incident', 'design doc' appear in 40-50% of senior JDs.
Seniority signals Junior JDs ask for 'strong fundamentals' and 'eager to learn'. Senior JDs ask for 'system design', 'mentorship', 'cross-team', 'production experience'. Mid-level lives in between. Mirror the seniority language of the target JD, not your resume's current level.
Add tech in context 'Built X in TypeScript' beats 'TypeScript' in a floating skills list. Keep both, but the bullet-context version is what ATS rerankers weight highest.
